Paysanne roumaine, elle porte costume traditionnel de la région de Bucovina, en Roumanie. Elle se trouve dans une maison paysanne. En arrière plan se trouve un poêle en terre cuite caractéristique des maisons de Roumanie ainsi qu'un vase de fleurs de lilas, en terre-cuite. Elle est assise sur une chaise en bois face à la fenêtre pour être bénie par lumière.

Country girl...she is wearing traditional costume from Bucovina region, Romania. In the background it can be seen a terracotta stove, something specific for romanian houses and a clay vase with lilac flowers. She is sitting on a wooden chair with her face to the window waiting the blessing of the light.
